Objectives:

- Effective teaching of two school subjects at the secondary level.
- Planning and evaluation of instruction based on student needs.
- Mastery of teaching aids and remedial methods.
- Participation in school activities and development of educational tools.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have at least 50% marks in Bachelor/Master’s in Science, Social Science, Humanities, or Commerce. Engineering graduates with 55% are also eligible. Reserved category relaxation as per government norms.
Admission Procedure:
Based on qualifying marks, entrance exam, or other methods as per NCTE/State Government/University.
Duration & Working Days:
- Two years, completed within three years.
- Minimum 200 working days per year.
- Minimum attendance: 80% for coursework, 90% for internship.
Course Design:
- Perspectives in Education: Courses on childhood, learning, curriculum, etc.
- Curriculum & Pedagogic Studies: Language, disciplines, pedagogy, assessment.
- Optional Courses: Health, Peace Education, Vocational Training, etc.
- Field Engagement: Assignments, internships, professional capacity building.
- EPC Courses: Reading, Drama, ICT, Self-understanding.
School Internship:
First Year: 4-week school attachment.
Second Year: 16-week school placement.
Students gain real experience and responsibilities in school environments under mentorship.
Main Objectives:
- Reflect on teaching practices.
- Understand school culture and develop teaching confidence.
- Engage in lesson planning, classroom management, and assessments.
Examination Rules:
First Year:
- Promotion allowed with up to 2 failed papers (internal or external).
- Failing in more than 2 external papers requires reappearing in all theory papers next year.
Second Year:
- 90% internship attendance is mandatory.
- Failure in final lesson results in failing the year, but all other marks are carried forward for reattempt.
